A memorial service for Susan Renee Christensen, 48, of Coos Bay, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, Fourth and Elrod, in Coos Bay.
Susan was born Feb. 15, 1958, in Shreveport, La., the daughter of Robert and Marianna (Culver) Humphrey. She died Jan. 30, 2007, in Coos Bay.
She was raised and educated in Coos Bay, where she attended Marshfield High School. She married David Ray Christensen on Aug. 19, 1978, at Shore Acres State Park. She was a loving wife and mother, and she had spent many seasons processing seafood.
Susan was well liked and well loved, and enjoyed spending time at the family property along the river in Allegany, growing strawberries, camping with her husband and friends, playing bingo, the beach, taking drives in the Coast Range, and her cat.
She is survived by her daughter, ----- and ----- ----- of Coos Bay; mother, Marianna Batey of Rochester, N.Y.; sisters, Tina Humphrey of Coos Bay and ----- and ----- ----- of Rochester; brothers, ----- and ----- Humphrey of Brookings and ----- Humphrey of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, David Christensen, in 1996; and her father, Robert Humphrey in 2002.
