Cremation rites have been held for William Earl Foster, 83, of Coos Bay. Inurnment will be at Roseburg National Cemetery.
William was born March 20, 1920, to Lawrence and Myrtle I. (Collver) Foster, in Marshfield. He died Nov. 26, 2003, in Coos Bay.
He was raised and educated in Marshfield and attended Marshfield High School. During World War II, he served as a corporal in the U.S. Army. After the war, he returned to Coos Bay, where he worked as an oiler and a maintenance man for Georgia-Pacific and then Weyerhaeuser until retiring.
William enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always very handy and he loved to "putter around" with things.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Foster of Coos Bay; son, ----- Foster of Molalla; daughters, ----- ----- of Coos Bay and ----- ----- of Cadillac, Mich.; grandsons, ----- ----- of Coos Bay, ----- ----- of Coos Bay and ----- ----- of Clackamas; granddaughters, ----- Foster of Bend and ----- ----- of Detroit; two great-grandsons, ----- and ----- -----, both of Coos Bay; and sister, Alice Collier of Ontario.
