James Edgar ANDERSON, Sr. was born 11 April 1910 in Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington, USA, the son of James Louis ANDERSON and Isabelle NEWTON.  About 1932 he married his first wife, Ellen Olive CURTISS.  Ellen was born 29 Aug 1914 in Sequim, Clallam County, Washington; she was the daughter of C. Howard CURTISS and Mabel ANDERSON.  James and Ellen had 4 children together.  Their first daughter, Patricia Darlene Anderson, was born in 1933 but she died as an infant only 2 days after her birth.  Their next son, James Edgar Anderson, Jr., was born in 1934, but he also died young, at the age of 22, from a motorcycle accident.  They had another daughter who is still living.  Lastly, James and Ellen had a son, Leon, who also died fairly young, at 42.  Patricia, James Jr. and Leon are all buried in Greenwood Cemetery, along with their father.

At some point, James married again, this time to Dorothy G. (Coller) Marshall.  Dorothy died on 15 May 1998 in Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington.  She was buried in in Greenwood Cemetery in Chimacum, Jefferson County, Washington, USA.  Only a few months later, on 24 Sep 1998, James also died in Port Townsend.  He was buried next to his second wife in Greenwood Cemetery, and the two of them share a gravestone.
