bullet  General Notes

Cader Powell and his family were all born in Virginia before the settlement of boundary lines, so when the changes were made, the Cader Powell family found themselves in Kentucky, perhaps on the grant of land given him for his Revolutionary service.  He had been given land in Wilkes County, Georgia, and had  lived there.  (Our Colonial Lines, p. 4)

Cader's military service in the Revolutionary War is verified by the published record of a certificate given by Colonel Elijah Clarke, who was with Gen. Green during his campaign in Georgia (Georgia's Roster of the Revolution).
