Thelma P. Price was born on July 24, 1905 on the farm of J.D. Remer near Vandalia, Illinois, a daughter of Charles W. and Myrtle M. (Remer) Price.  She lived with her parents near Bloomington, Illinois until moving to Tremont, Illinois in about 1923.  While visiting her parents in Carlinville she met Thomas H. Holley, a local timberman. They were married on Nov. 21, 1925 in Tremont.  Tom and Thelma lived in Bunker Hill, Illinois until the stock market crash of 1929 when they moved to Carlinville, where they resided the remainder of their lives.  In the years following Thelma had five miscarrages and in 1929 she had stillborn twins.  In the years from 1932 until 1950 she was the mother of 8 living children, all of whom all survived her.  She contracted leukemia in 1974 and died after a stroke on April 28, 1974 at Carlinville, Illinois.  She was buried in Shiloh cemetery near the city.  Tom died in 1981.
