CHARLES MONROE HEISLER was born 03 June 1879 in Prineville, Crook County, Oregon, the son of Monroe Heisler and Cynthia Louise White.  He worked as a farmer or farm laborer most of his life.  On 26 Aug 1900 in Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon, he married his wife, Eva Lois Powell.  Eva was the daughter of Isaac Jamison Powell and Adelia Emily Collver.  She had been born 13 July 1883 near Dufur.  On the 12 Sep 1918 WWI draft registration card that Charles filled out, he was described as of medium height and slender build, with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair.  Charles died 03 Sep 1957 in Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon, and was buried in the Dufur IOOF Cemetery.  His wife Eva died 16 years later in The Dalles, on 09 Oct 1973, and she was buried beside Charles in the Dufur Cemetery.  They share a gravestone.
