    Norma Jean Schultz, 84, of Grand Island died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Wedgewood Care Center. Norma Jean was born Feb. 10, 1926, in Stennett, Iowa to Roswell and Laura (Rush) White.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Clendora (Scarf); her sisters, Lorraine Wendt, Maxine Norris, Ruth Scheel, and Linda Foote; and her brothers, Leo and Robert.

    Norma was educated and graduated Salutatorian from Stennett High School. After graduation, Norma came to Grand Island to attend business school on a scholarship. There she met the love of her life, Gordon. She was united in marriage to Gordon Schultz on Oct. 26, 1947.

    Norma was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Platt Duetsche and the Liederkranz.

    Norma was a faithful volunteer at Seedling Mile and Knickrehm Elementary Schools. She was a room mother for years, providing joy and delicious treats to so many children. Norma was an excellent cook and her family, neighbors and friends loved the homemade meals and goodies she always provided. Quite the pie maker, she made the art of pie-making look easy. Norma loved being a housewife, where she could spoil Gordon and their five children. Norma also enjoyed her grandchildren, attending their many events over the years.

    She loved playing bridge, and was a part of several bridge clubs. Norma enjoyed Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights, watching Wheel of Fortune every night, dancing with her beloved Gordon, reading and playing the piano.
