Alice Frances Carver Jenkins

WEIR — Alice Frances Carver Jenkins, 68, formerly of Columbus, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at her home in Weir after an illness.

She was born April 3, 1934, to Arthur and Wilda (Catron) Carver.

She attended schools in Kansas City. On June 23, 1951, she married Harley James Jenkins Jr. at Olathe. He preceded her in death in 1987.

The couple moved to Olathe in 1969. She moved to Columbus in 1991. She then moved to Weir, where she lived until her death.

Survivors include four daughters, four sons, eight sisters, nine brothers,16 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Earl, in 1967; one daughter, Marie Kyle, in 1999; one sister and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Murdock Funeral Home, 132 E. Pine St., Columbus. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Community Church, 13310 S. Blackbob, Olathe. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Leavenworth Cemetery under the direction of Murdock Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Alice Frances Carver Jenkins, 68, Weir, formerly of Columbus, were Friday, Oct. 18, at the Leavenworth Cemetery, Leavenworth.

Mrs. Jenkins died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at her home following an illness.

She was born April 3, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Arthur and Wilda (Catron) Carver.

Mrs. Jenkins attended schools in Kansas City and moved to Olathe in 1969. She moved to Columbus in 1991 before moving to Weir.

She married Harley James Jenkins Jr. June 23, 1951, in Olathe. He died in 1987.

A son, Earl Jenkins, a daughter, Marie Kyle, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.

Survivors include four daughters, four sons, eight sisters, nine brothers, 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and her companion, _____ Long.

A memorial has been established in her name and may be sent to the Murdock Funeral Home, 132 E. Pine St., Columbus 66725.
