  • War Memorial: Alexander's death is commemorated on the Prestbury war memorial in Prestbury, Gloucestershire, England.

The Prestbury War Memorial is located at the junction of the Bank and High Street in Prestbury, near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.  It is a Cotswold stone gothic revival column with six engraved panels commemorating the villagers who died in the First World War (1914 –1918).

The first panel carries the inscription:   Pray for the souls of the men from this parish who gave their lives for their country in the Great War 1914 - 1918.  Jesu Mercy.

Alexander Falkland Gulland's name is inscribed on Panel 3.

In October 2011, the memorial was severely damaged by vandals. The column was toppled to the ground and smashed to pieces, damaging it beyond repair. A replacement for the war memorial was unveiled on 14 April 2012, 91 years to the day since the original was put in place. It was the first war memorial to be made from Box Ground Bath stone for 60 years.
