Obituary from The Philadelphia Inquirer, April 10, 1999, Local Section, Page D13:

JAMES P. NUNEMAKER, A BANKER
by Herb Drill, INQUIRER SUBURBAN STAFF

James P. Nunemaker, 77, of Doylestown Township, a community leader and former banking executive, died Tuesday at Doylestown Hospital.

After retiring as a vice president and trust officer of Continental Bank & Trust Co., he acted as a municipal bond consultant for Dolphin & Bradbury, a Philadelphia investment firm, for 10 years.  His work in that field piqued his interest in municipal affairs, and for the last several years he served as chairman of the Doylestown Township Municipal Authority. Mr. Nunemaker had been chairman of the board of Middle Bucks Vocational-Technical School, and a member of the Central Bucks School Authority and the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority.

A native of Bradford, Pa., he graduated from St. Bernard's High School there and received a bachelor's degree from Villanova University. He later graduated from the American Bankers Association's Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.

During World War II, he served in France with an Army unit that attempted to break German codes.

Mr. Nunemaker was a trust officer for banks in Bradford and Johnstown, Pa., before moving to Doylestown in 1959 to be a trust officer for the former Doylestown National Bank & Trust Co. That bank merged with the Continental Bank & Trust Co.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church and American Legion Post 0210, both in Doylestown Borough.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Betty L. Miller Nunemaker; a son and daughter; and three grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State St. Burial is to be private.

The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, 625 W. Ridge Pike, Suite 100, Conshohocken, Pa. 19428.
