bullet  Birth Notes

Ella does not appear on the 1870 census with her family (enumerated 17 July 1870 in Clay City, Clay County, Illinois).  On the 1880 census (02 June 1880, also in Clay City), Ella is listed as "11" — but older brother Henry (who is "12" on the 1880 census) is only "1" on the 1870 census.  It seems likely that Ella was born in 1871, not 1870.
