    GOLDIE ILA REEVES BYES of Corning, Arkansas died on Monday, 15 March 2004, at Biloxi Regional Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was 92 years old. Goldie was born in Success, Arkansas on 14 July 1911, the daughter of Thomas Reeves and his wife, Ava Berry.

    She married Osborn ("O.B.") Byes on 10 January 1927 in Success, and together they raised three children. Goldie was a homemaker, and she also worked on the family farm. She was a member of the Moark Highway Tabernacle Church in Corning.

    Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Leroy Byes, and Richard Byes; two grandchildren, Tawona Smith and Richard Byes, Jr.; three brothers, Monte Reeves, Jeff Reeves and Johnny Knowlton; and two sisters, Fleda Lester and Lura Dean Lester.

    Survivors include one daughter, ----- ----- of Biloxi; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm, Saturday afternoon, on 20 March 2004, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning. The Reverend Billy J. Snow officiatied. Burial was in the Hitt Cemetery in Success.
