BERNEDA MELFEDA MENZ was born 11 October 1929 in Randles, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, USA.  She was the daughter of Grover William Menz and his wife Bessie Beulah Patterson.

On December 22, 1945 Berneda married Ray Eugene Wagoner in Jackson; they had three children together — two sons and a daughter.  Later they divorced.  Berneda worked as a nurse's aide at Southeast Missouri Hospital before she retired.  She was a member of Free Trinity Pentecostal Church at Randles.

On June 8, 1990, she married Davey Lee Newcomer. They lived in Bell City until her death on Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.  Survivors included her husband; a son, Clifford Wagoner of Painton; a daughter, an adopted daughter; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.

The funeral was held by Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Visitation was at their Chapel after 4 p.m. on Friday, November 13th, 1998. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 1998 at Free Trinity Church, with the Revs. Jack Owens, Vester Keesee and Brad Moore officiating.  Burial was in Williams Cemetery at Perkins.
