Body of man missing since Jan. 29 found

The frozen body of a Cape Girardeau man, missing since last week, was found Thursday afternoon behind Southeast Missouri Builders Supply Inc., 411 Jefferson street.
Jimmy Donald Maglone, 59, who police believed to have lived somewhere along South Middle or South Ranny streets, had been missing since Jan. 29.
Cape County Coroner Harold G. Cobb said it appears Maglone died of exposure. However, he said he will not be able to make a positive determination of the cause of death until after the body thaws.
"Right now I'm leaning toward exposure as the cause of death, but we want to be sure." Cobb reported.
Authorities said Maglone was fully clothed and was lying on his side when found by Paul David Raines, a friend of the victim, at about 3 p.m. Thursday.
Cobb pronounced him dead at about 4 p.m., but the body was not removed from the scene until after 6 p.m. The Cape Girardeau Police Department assisted in the removal of the body, which was taken to the Ford and Sons Funeral Home.
Maglone was last seen alive late Friday night and Cobb said there is a good possibility he has been dead since that time [ ... His watch? ] was stopped on the 29th, he explained.
Maglone's daughter, Mrs C. Overbeck of Gordonville, reported her father missing Tuesday and said he had already been missing four days.
Although Cobb said the death appears due to freezing, police said they are not ruling out foul play. "Nothing has been determined," remarked Lt. Michael B. Seib head of the police department's detective division.
He said he and Sgt. John Brown also of the detective division, will be meeting later today to try and determine whether Maglone's death was accidental.
