Private First Class Tucker was a member of the 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on October 4, 1951. Private First Class Tucker was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

  Ray Dean Tucker, youngest son of Corta E. and Ethel Foster Tucker, was born in Noble, Ill., September 14, 1927; and gave his life for his country at the age of 24 years and 20 days on October 4, 1951 while serving in the Korean conflict.
  
  Ray Dean attended the Noble Elementary School and completed 1 year at the Noble High School. In November 1945 he entered the Armed Services and was honorably discharged in 1946. In November 1950, he again entered the Armed Services and was sent to Korea the following February where he earned the respect and commendation of both his comrades and officers.
  
  He leaves to mourn his departure, his father and mother of Noble, Ill.; two brothers, Donald E. of Robinson, Illinois and E. Douglas of Fairfield, Illinois; his aged grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Tucker of Noble, Illinois, two aunts, Mrs. Laura Ealy and Mrs. May Hemrich, both of Noble, Illinois; the families of both brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
  
  He was a member of the First Christian church of Noble, living his Christianity in a practical way, devoting himself unstintingly to both his parents and his aged grandmother. His helping hand and quiet smile will be missed while he is away.
