  Edmund Eugene "Gene" Longacre, 78, of Soap Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at his home.
  He had worked most of his life in farming and the meat business. He was employed by the USDA at the time of his death. He had lived in Soap Lake for 19 years.
  Survivors include his wife, ----- Longacre at the home; two daughters, ----- ----- of Moses Lake and ----- ----- of Soap Lake; a sister, ----- Wiley of East Wenatchee; and a brother, ----- Longacre of Ellensburg.
  Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 9 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ephrata, 1012 C St. S.W.
  Arrangements are by Cascade Memorial Center, East Wenatchee.
