bullet  Recorded Events about their Marriage

  • They have conflicting marriage information of 7 June 1857 and Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland. 7 This alternate marriage date comes from FamilySearch's "Scotland Marriages, 1561–1910" collection (formerly IGI), which includes transcriptions of microfilm copies of the original marriage certificates. Since a copy of the original certificate is shared below, we can see that the transcription must have been in error in this particular instance. I include this alternate marriage date not because it is correct, but because the error will continue to replicate and show up in other family trees based on the source of this error.
