    Edith A. Batterman, 94, pioneer Guymon area resident died in Memorial Hospital at Guymon, Thursday, March 31. The daughter of Nelson and Lydia Rants, she was born on Sept. 28, 1888 at Denver, Colo. She moved to Trumbull, Neb. with her parents at an early age where she received her schooling.

    She married John Batterman on April 22, 1908 at Hastings, Neb. And shortly after they moved to this area and settled on land three and one half miles south of Hough. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

    She is survived by; two daughters, Ethel Hinds, Guymon and Ida Hart, Lamar, Colo.; six sons, Andrew Batterman, Hereford, Tex., Herman Batterman, Mustang, Marion Batterman, Enid, Louis Batterman, Melvin Batterman and Delbert Batterman, Guymon; 30 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be conducted from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Gary Deck, pastor of the First Assembly of God, will officiate. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of the Henson Funeral Home of Guymon. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening or Saturday morning.
