    DEATHS and FUNERALS

    Versa Morgan Dies At Age 59; Rites Thursday
       Mrs. Versa Elizabeth Morgan, of 609 South Tenth Street, died at 7:20 this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past four days. She was 59 years, one month and five days of age. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Charlie Karch will officiate and burial will be in Bethel Memorial Cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Morgan was born February 28, 1897 in Clay City, Ill., the daughter of John and Elizabeth (McGlone) Nelson. She was first married to Luther M. Dodson, who preceded her in death in 1937. She was later married to James T. Morgan, who died March 6 of this year. Surviving are one son, Ivan M. Dodson of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Dorothy Fern McClellan of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Tillie Henson of St. Louis and Pauline Sheppard of Decatur; two grandchildren who were reared in her home, Stephen Wayne Dodson and Patsy Flanagan; and two great grandchildren.
