Byron possessed a native talent for electrical work and used it in the army in WWII and afterwards in his work. He was stationed in Guam during WWII. He and Adele lived in the Chicago area with their two children. He died after suffering from Altzheimer's disease for several years. He is buried at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
