Peggy "Betsey" Maglone died unexpectedly in her sleep and was found Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at her home. She was 55 and a lifelong resident of Slaughter. She was a captain at Dixon Correctional Institute, with more than 17 years of service. She was a loving mother and friend to all with whom she came into contact. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Betty McCarver and chaplain Gary Pearce. Interment in Feliciana Rest Cemetery, Slaughter.
She is survived by two daughters, her parents, sister, and brother. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Dylan Clay Bissett; and grandparents, Clay Sr. and Jeannette Rice Maglone, and Earl and Ethel McGehee McCoy.
