    Gene was born in Troupe, Texas to William and Sarah Harris. He was the youngest of five children. He passed away at his good friend's and caregivers home in Lake Isabella, Walter and Carol Morrison with his beloved dog Katie by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife Colleen of 50 years and his stepson Mike Stites of Lake Isabella. He loved fishing. He is survived by his brother Carl D. Harris of Lake Isabella and his niece ----- ----- and husband ----- of Lake Isabella.

    Graveside services will be Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Kern River Valley Cemetery in Wofford Heights.
