    Helen M. Townsend, 96

    Helen M. Townsend, a resident of Westminster Village, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at her residence.

    Born Aug. 14, 1909, to the late Arthur R. and Cora Wilson Nelson Townsend in Princeton, Ind., she was a 1928 graduate of Princeton High School, received her bachelor's degree in 1933 from Indiana State University and earned a master's degree from Purdue University in 1944.

    Mrs. Townsend worked as a food service director at Purdue from 1942 until 1976.

    She enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping, hiking, reading, and cooking.

    Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a sister, Lois DeCoursey.
