"Richmond, Irene D. In New Woodstock Mar. 20 Irene D., wife of Mathew W. Richmond 42 years (Apr 2, 1869)"
I am not sure I understand this abstract given me, I believe it was a death announcement taken from info at Oneida City Library. I suspect that Mathew was married at least twice, 1st to an Elizabeth, (2nd to Irene D. who died in 1869, it is possible that Irene D. is also Elizabeth), and lastly to Harriet G. (see will below). I further suspect that Carrie E. Stanton is his daughter Caroline by his first marriage (see 1855 census above) and the remaining child ren mentioned in the will were his step-children. I have presumed that Julia and Ida were his step-children by his 2nd marriage - Irene, and that Wilfred Wells was his step-son by his third marriage.
