Susan Shawyer Bell (b. 2 Sept 1874) was born at 33 William Street, Southsea, and would have been twelve years old at the death of her mother (1886).  She would have been close to maturity (the age of 14 years when children of working class families  started to work and left home).  Susan eventually married a man called Claughton.  They had one daughter:
