    JOE D. HARDIN

         The funeral for Joe D. Hardin of Southeast Portland, a retired Portland-area automotive parts salesman, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Lincoln Willamette Funeral Directors.
         Mr. Hardin died of cancer Saturday in a Portland hospital at the age of 74.
         He was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Lewiston, Idaho, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
         As a young man, Mr. Hardin worked on cattle and sheep ranches in Spokane and in Idaho.
         He moved to the Portland area in 1967 and married Alice M. Powers on Sept. 21, 1968, in Vancouver, Wash.
         Mr. Hardin worked for Francis Ford from 1967 until his retirement in 1981.
         Survivors besides his wife include his sons, ----- of Lewiston and ----- of Nampa, Idaho; his daughters, Linda Amack of Scappoose and ----- ----- of Boise; his stepsons, ----- Muehlheim of Milwaukie and ----- Muehlheim of Portland; and 11 grandchildren.
         Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
         The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Oregon division of the American Cancer Society.
