Obituary:

Becky Bannish

Phyllis Rebecca (Cobbs) Bannish was born November 4, 1936, to Virgil and Ladessa Cobbs in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Becky was the fourth of seven children.
Her brother John Cobbs preceded her in death.
Becky married Lester Bannish on December 9, 1966. They made their home in Raymond, Wash., where they spent 44 blessed years together.
She has four children, and two step-children, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Becky held many occupations throughout her lifetime including a car hop at A&W, gathering ferns and peeling bark when times were lean, and many years as a school bus driver for Willapa Valley School District. Her mornings were spent drinking coffee by her window and evenings spent reading a mystery novel on her davenport. She loved being with her family and being outdoors. Becky was not your typical grandma; her favorite pastimes were riding quads and motorcycles whenever she could. She had a contagious sense of humor and an adventurous spirit that will be missed by all who knew her.
It was her desire to pass on her faith in Jesus Christ, which she learned from her mother, to her own children, grandchildren, and anyone she knew. She lived her quiet life of faith without pretension, always wanting to be true to herself and her simple lifestyle. Although she was a strong woman, she accepted everyone and extended the grace of God and forgiveness to those that needed it most.
She went home to be with the Lord February 27, 2010, at her home in Firdale, which she dearly loved, surrounded by family. She will be truly missed, but her faith in God that she taught her family lives on and will bring us together soon.
There will be no public service at Becky's request. Her family will be having a private gathering in her honor.
