GRANITE CHIPS
A memorial consisting of a broken column of grey granite is being prepared by Mr James Hutcheon, King Street, for shipment to South Africa. The total height of the monument is 10ft. 6in., and it measures 2ft. 10in. at the base. All the work is finely-axed, and on the die is the following inscription : — "Erected by his friends in loving memory of Thomas Boyd Harrower, of Broughty-Ferry, Scotland, who died 20th August, 1901, aged 34. 'Write him a man who loved his fellow-men.' 'Blessed is he who considereth the poor.' " The memorial has a border to match, measuring 9ft. by 4ft.

GRANITE CHIPS
Amongst various monumental orders being completed, or just despatched, by Mr Hutcheon, is a handsome polished Bon-Accord red granite headstone, proposed to be erected in Banchory Churchyard, in memory of Mr James Berry, Burnett Arms Hotel, who died on 16th September, 1900, at the age 67 years. Another is an order for South Africa, which bears the following inscription — "Erected by his friends, in loving memory of Thomas Boyd Harrower, of Broughty-Ferry, Scotland, who died 20th August, 1901, aged 34. 'Write him a man who loved his fellow men.' 'Blessed is he who considereth the poor.' " The monument is in the form of a broken column of red granite rising to a considerable height.
