General Notes This is the story I have been told recently. One Sunday evening Luke (Rose's older brother) was out standing at his front gate. A young man by the name of Francis Hughes came along and stopped for a chat with Luke. He was from Lisnaskea which is about nine miles from Greaghmore. Anyway in the course of conversation Francis told Luke that he was on his way to see a woman by the name of Reilly who lived up the mountain road.and that he was interested in her. Luke said to him, "I have a good looking sister, come in to the house to see her." Francis went in to meet Rose Anne and it must have been "Love at First Sight." They were married shortly after. (Annie Clarke Nolan) |
Rose married Francis HUGHES on 3 February 1896 in Knockninny, County Fermanagh, Ireland.1 (Francis HUGHES was born about 1859 of Lisnaskea, County Fermanagh, Ireland 2.)
