Richard F. Wright
A memorial gathering for Richard F. "Dick" Wright, 70, of Coos Bay, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday March 25, at 1144 Minnesota St., Coos Bay.
He was born March 29, 1929, in Hitchcock, S.D. [corrected to S.D. from S.C.], the son of Floyd and Sevilla (Walton) Wright. He died March 22, 2000, in Coos Bay.
He was raised and educated in South Dakota and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years before moving to Coos Bay in 1978. He worked for International Paper for several years then owned and operated "Dick Wright Handyman" until retiring several years ago.
His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He also liked to fish, play bingo, solve puzzles, play games and he was fond of his cats.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, ----- and ----- Wright of Coos Bay; daughter, ----- ----- of San Mateo, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, ----- and ----- ----- of Las Vegas, Nev., ----- and ----- ----- of Concord, Calif., and ----- and ----- ----- of Martinez, Calif.; sisters, ----- ----- of San Diego and ----- ----- of Anaheim, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; a brother; and two sisters.
