Mr. Zink was director of clergy development for the Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Mo.
He was a VISTA volunteer and teacher at Navajo Indian Reservation Rough Rock Demonstration School in Rough Rock, Ariz., from 1966-1970. From 1970-1972, he was a social worker for Boston Children's Services. From 1972-1977, he served as the founding director at Baird Center in Plymouth, Mass. From 1977-1980, he served as a director of group care and facilities director at New England Home for Little Wanderers in Jamaica Plain, Mass.
Mr. Zink graduated from Madison (Wis.) East High School. He earned his master of social work degree from the University of Utah in 1970 and a master of divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1984. On Feb. 15, 2004, an honorary doctor of divinity degree was conferred on him by the Eastern Nazarene College.
His pastoral assignments included associate pastor of Overland Park (Kan.) Church of the Nazarene; senior pastor of Excelsior Springs (Mo.) Church of the Nazarene; senior pastor of Valley-Hi Church of the Nazarene in San Antonio, Texas; senior pastor of Owego (N.Y.) First Church of the Nazarene; district superintendent of Upstate New York District Church of the Nazarene; district superintendent of New England District Church of the Nazarene; and most recently, director of clergy development for the Church of the Nazarene, Kansas City.
