    Mrs. Clara Jack, Oregon City
         Mrs. Clara Jack, Ninth and Washington streets, died quietly in her sleep at her home early Sunday morning. She was born in Oregon City, October 9, 1876 and had lived in her present home for the last 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. R. H. Miller, who were early Oregon settlers. She was the widow of the late John Edward Jack, who was an assessor for Clackamas county for years. She was a life member of the First Methodist church, charter member of the Clackamas County Historical society, honorary member of the Business and Professional Women's club. Among the survivors are four nieces, Mrs. Ethel Vettfrund, Lodi, Calif; Mrs Jesse Leonard, Seattle, Wash; Mrs. Violet Chinn, Baker; Mrs. Ruth Klein,, Silverton; two nephews, Charles Beals, Tacoma, Wash; George Roberts, Lake Grove; a lifetime friend who she had resided with for 35 years, Miss Christina Bluhm; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Erma Jack, Silverton.
         Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27 at 2:30 PM in the First Methodist church with Holman-Hankins-Rilance Funeral Home in charge. Rev. Orval Whitman will officiate and Miles Burleigh will sing. Private committal will follow in the family plot in the Mountain View cemetery.
