  Many people have misread the birthdate on this document as "29 Oct 1913," however, it really says "24 Oct 1913."  This is obvious from the fact that the birth was registered on the 26th of October, 1913 — clearly, the birthdate cannot have been on the 29th.
  
  However, there is also a number "11" in parentheses immediately above the 24 in the birth date; I believe this was meant to be a correction to the original date recorded. In the SSDI and on his death certificate William's birthdate is given as 11 Oct 1913.
