Feb.8th, 1888:
George Wright, age 20 years, for many years a G.T.R.R. [Grand Trunk Railroad] employee, died at his home on Huron Street on Tuesday 7 in morning last from a severe attack of diptheria. The interment took place at English Church grave yard, Drummondville.The Royal Templers sent a floral anchor as a token of respect. No. 6 Co. of which he was a member sent beautifull pillow of flowers and the Grand Truck [Trunk] R.R. Employees presented a casket in which to place the sleeper, accompanied by an address to the mother of their friend as a slight token of their love and respect. There was a large funeral attended. Rev. Canon Bull and Rev. Huston performed the burial service at Niagara Falls South English Church. The ground was very harde. Not much snow. Good sleighing. [Undertaker:] Mr. M. Morse, Niagara Falls. $3.00 paid Feb. 21, 1888.
