LARRY DEAN SPENCE

Larry Dean Spence, age 53, a resident of LaCygne, Kan., died early Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at the Fort Scott Manor. He was born July 27, 1953 in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Harold Spence.

Larry graduated from the Prairie View High School and Rogers State College at Claremore, Okla. He was a welder by trade and a member of the Boiler Makers Union. He was known for his big heart and helpful nature. His hobbies included fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his mother; a daughter; a brother; a sister; a step-brother and a step-sister. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at the Large Cemetery. Family and friends may meet at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main St., P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
