Second Wathne brother killed at gravel pit
Funeral services for Olav Wathne, who was killed last Friday (July 3) when a dirt loader he was operating overturned at Builders Sand & Gravel, will be held this Saturday at the Westgate Chapel in Edmonds at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Pacific Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Beck's Funeral Home.
A younger brother, Sigvart Wathne, 37, was killed at the same pit last April when a gravel bank let go on him while operating the same machine.
In addition to his brother, Henry of Edmonds, Olav Wathne is survived by his wife, Anna Mae; three sons, Larry, Mark and Steve, and a daughter, Sandra, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oskar Wathne of Lynnwood, and a sister, Mrs. Robert Hosmer, Fergus Falls, Minn.
