MURPHYSBORO — Roger R. Blais, 79, of Murphysboro, died at 6 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2004, at home.
He was born April 10, 1925, in the state of Maine. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Alabama battleship. He was a Catholic. He was retired from SIUC.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna Blais of Murphysboro; a stepson; two sisters; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Father Gary Gummersheimer officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion, VFW and Disabled Veterans Honor Guard. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel.
