SCOTT CITY — Funeral service for Lester Woodson (Woody) Brant of Scott City will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. Hal Greene will officiate, assisted by Charles Lance. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
Brant, 63 years old, died Sunday, May 8, 1988, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1924, at Fornfelt, son of Lester and Lena Cramer Brant. He and the former Carolyn Anne Goodman were married Dec. 2, 1971, at Morley.
Brant graduated from the Police Academy in 1969. He served as police officer and police chief of Illmo, and after consolidation of Illmo and Scott City was a police officer at Scott City, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons; three daughters; a sister; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
