     Christine "Louise" Tucker, 93, of Mt. Vernon, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Residential Living Center in Mt. Vernon.
     She was born Monday, July 19, 1920, in Elmhurst, Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Sven Stephen and Elsie (Hellum) Erickson. She married Donald Emery Tucker on May 18, 1943, in Elmhurst, Long Island, N.Y. and he preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1993.
     Louise was a typist in the sales department for the Kollsman Division of Square-D Company in Sweden and Norway. She was inducted into the Mt. Vernon Chamber of Commerce Senior Saints Hall of Fame on Sept. 29, 2005; was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, the Victory Christian Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and the "Gospel Gals" praise and worship team of the church. She was also involved in Nursing Home Ministry in Mattoon and Mt. Vernon.
     She is survived by eight children, 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, two nieces; one great-nephew; and four great-nieces.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her stepmother; and one granddaughter, Tammy Sue Johnson.
     Hallelujah celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m Monday at Victory Christian Center in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Bob Meyer officiating. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery in Mattoon.
     Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Victory Christian Center in Mt. Vernon.
     For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Victory Christian Center and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
