Dr. Charles N. Spowart
   Solemn Requiem Mass was offered Wednesday, Feb. 27, in Sacred Heart Church for Dr. Charles Nellis Spowart, who died Feb. 23 at his home, 1154 Murrayhill Ave., of a lingering illness. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
   Dr. Spowart was graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and received his medical degree at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Returning then to America, he interned at the Pittsburgh Hospital. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Joyce Spowart, director of the USO Variety Club Canteen, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Spowart.

Memorial Services
Dr. Charles Nellis Spowart
   High mass of requiem for Dr. Charles Nellis Spowart, husband of Mrs. Dorothy Joyce Spowart, director of the USO Variety Club Canteen, was sung this morning in Sacred Heart Church.
   Dr. Spowart was an active member of that church.
   Son of Mary Nellis and Thomas Spowart, he died Saturday in his home, 1154 Murrayhill Ave., following a long illness. He was 40 years of age this month.
   Dr. Spowart graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and received his medical degree at the University of Edinburg [sic], Scotland where he was one of the top ten students in his class.
   Upon graduation, Dr. Spowart interned in the Pittsburgh Hospital. He participated in numerous charity activities.
   Friends were received at H. Samson's, 537 Neville St.
