WEDDINGS AT HOME
WELLINGTON BRIDE

LONDON, July 25.
On July 18, at St. Aldhelm's Church, Upper Edmonton, the marriage took place of Miss Jean Gillies, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gillies, Wellington, to Mr. Francis William (Frank) Smith, of Steeplestone Close, Pasteur Gardens, London, N18. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. M. Boswell.
The bride, who was escorted by Mr. D. Snelgrove (a friend of the bridegroom's family), wore a dainty frock of pale pink satin and carried a sheaf of pink roses. The bridesmaids were the Misses Joyce Newberry, Evelyn Tyler, and Janet Rumble (cousins of the bridegroom). Their frocks were of green taffeta, with crinoline hats of the same tone, and they carried sheaves of yellow roses. The best man was Mr. A. W. Smith and Mr. Snelgrove was groomsman.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith held a reception at "Hataitai," Steeplestone Close, numerous friends being present. The bride and bridegroqm left by car for Westcliff-on-Sea, where the honeymoon is being spent. The former wore a navy blue tailored suit with hat en suite.
