Virginia 'Judy' Outt

JOPLIN, Mo. — Virginia "Judy" Outt, 65, of Carthage, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo. She was born April 6, 1935, at Columbus, to Charles and Mary (McReynolds) Downs.

On July 12, 1952, she married Nelson R. "Dick" Outt at Huntsville, Ark. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1987.

Mrs. Outt moved to Carthage in 1974, from Columbus. She worked at Leggett and Platt for 22 years and retired in 1995 due to ill health.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include two sons, two daughters, five sisters, 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel, Carthage, with minister DeWayne Combs officiating. Burial will be in Lone Elm Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage, which is handling all arrangements.
