General Notes

Obituary from The Daily Herald of Everett, Washington (Mar/8/2009):

John Peter Carmichael, 62, of Granite Falls, WA died March 3, 2009. He was born March 17, 1946 to William and Alma Carmichael.
He went to Lakeside High School (1964), then joined the Army and fought in Viet Nam (1966 –1969). Coming home, he went to the UW and got a BA in Business (1972). He became an architect and builder, and for 20 years worked side by side with his brother.
On May 6, 1990, John married his wife and together they enjoyed their passion for travel. Having many great adventures. John was also an excellent skier and avid outdoorsman. John retired in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Powell Carmichael.
Surviving family includes, his wife, stepdaughter and fiancee, mother, two brothers and one sister-in-law, two nephews, and a son from a previous marriage.
Memorial Donations may be made to "Hands of Love" Ministry, Arlington, WA or VFW.
There will be a private Celebration of Life.
John's Special Request is that all Viet Nam Vets get physical exams. Because of the exam, his prostate cancer (caused from Agent Orange) was found, and with treatment, he enjoyed more years of life because it was found early.
