Chris L. Potter
HANOVER — Chris LeGrande Potter, 47, entered into God's care on Monday, April 7, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family after battling lymphoma cancer for the past 2 years.
Chris was born on November 7, 1960, in Easley, S.C. He is the son of ----- Potter and the late Edra (Ealy) Potter. Chris is the husband of ----- (-----) Potter.
Chris is survived by his newborn son, ----- ----- Potter and three loving sisters, ----- ----- of Winchester, Va., ----- ----- of Hanover and ----- ----- of Denver, Pa.
Chris graduated from Littlestown High School in 1979 and furthered his education at Shippensburg University earning a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. After college, he worked at Hoffman Homes and Abraxus, helping to better the lives of delinquent youth. Most recently Chris was employed by Littlestown Foundry as well as owner of Potter Rentals. He was a member of American Foundry Association and Shippensburg Alumni Association.
Chris was an exceptional athlete. He helped to earn undefeated records as a member of many sports teams in Littlestown and college. Chris was an outstanding football player at Shippensburg University and later an assistant coach for a few years.
Chris was an optimistic person and loved life. He spent every opportunity enjoying water sports, especially jet skiing, scuba diving, boating and water skiing. Chris was happiest where there was water, sun and warm temperatures. He also enjoyed golfing and exercising.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Littlestown. A service will follow at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with Pastor Suanne Whorl, the Rev. Scott Dorsey and the Rev. Thomas Stellhorn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John Hopkins Medicine (Lymphoma Dept.), 1 Charles Ctr., 100 N. Charles St., Suite 234, Baltimore, MD 21201; or VNA (Hospice), 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.
