Ira Ray White
Ira Ray White was born in Weed, Calif. on Sept. 20, 1919, and passed away on May 28, 2005 in Placerville, Calif. Ira's family moved to Torrance, Calif. when he was very young. He graduated from Torrance High School. He married Carmen Titshaw in 1941. They had two children, ----- and -----. After Carmen's death in 1976, he married ----- Coburn.
"Ray," as he was known to family and friends, worked as a welder in the shipyards, owned and operated a service station, was employed by Shell Oil Company for 25 years, and had a brief post-retirement career at Eagle Oil Company in Carson, Calif.
Ray served in the Army for over two years and was stationed in the Philippines. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Sarah White; his first wife, Carmen; two sisters and three brothers. He is survived by -----, his wife of 25 years; his son, ----- White; his daughter, ----- -----; three step-sons, ----- Coburn, ----- Coburn and ----- Coburn; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, ----- White; and his sister, ----- -----. Ray was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pollock Pines for 25 years. He loved the Lord and enjoyed singing in the choir.
A memorial service for Ray was held at the First Baptist Church in Pollock Pines, 6361 Pony Express Trail, on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any remembrances be made to the Pollock Pines Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 59, Pollock Pines, CA 95726.
