     Jonathan D. Unterseher, 99, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Friday evening, September 21, 2007 at his home. Private Interment will be held at the Thomas Alford Cemetery in Harrisburg, Oregon with a private graveside service held at a later date.
  
     JONATHAN DAVID UNTERSEHER was born July 20, 1908 in Bowden, North Dakota, the son of John A. Unterseher and Katherine (Miller) Unterseher. He was the second of eleven children. He was raised and received his education in the Bowden community. He was united in marriage to Clara Diebert on December 26, 1935 in Wadena, Minnesota. Following their marriage they made their home in Wadena until 1947 when they moved to Oregon, settling in the Harrisburg community. From this marriage there are two children, ----- and -----. Jonathan was preceded in death by his wife, Clara, in 1961, after celebrating over twenty-five years of marriage.
     In 1962 Jonathan married Leona (Schlinsog) Bixby. Following their marriage they made their home in Harrisburg, Salem, and Dallas. From this marriage, came their son, -----, as well as 4 stepchildren. Leona passed away in 1995, after celebrating over thirty-three years of marriage. Following his wife's death, Jonathan continued to make his home in Dallas until January of 2003 when he moved to the Forest Grove community.
     Jonathan worked in a variety of jobs over the years. While living in the Midwest, he worked in the farming industry. After moving to Harrisburg, he worked as the custodian for the Harrisburg Elementary School until he retired in 1973. Following his retirement he worked for Glenn Noris on his Christmas Tree Farm and later for the Livingston Junior Academy. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Forest Grove.
     Among his interests, Jonathan enjoyed his church work, gardening, and visiting with his family and friends, as well as enjoying the view of the combines working the grass seed fields and watching his granddaughter ride her horse from the front porch of his sons home during this past summer.
     His parents, John and Katherine Unterseher; four brothers, Al, Ed, Wilmer, and Walter; two sisters, Ottilia and Olivia; and a son, Terry Bixby, also preceded him in death.
     Jonathan is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, ----- and ----- ----- of Alberta, Canada; ----- and ----- ----- of Dallas, Oregon; and ----- and ----- ----- of Waimanalo, Hawaii; three sons and daughters-in-law, ----- and ----- Unterseher of Gresham, Oregon; ----- and ----- Bixby of Orlando, Florida; and ----- and ----- Unterseher of Forest Grove, Oregon; a daughter-in-law and her spouse, ----- ----- and ----- ----- of Eugene, Oregon; a brother and sister-in-law, Pastor ----- and ----- Unterseher of Forest Grove, Oregon; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, ----- and ----- ----- of Lodi, California; ----- and ----- ----- of Lincoln, Nebraska; and ----- and ----- ----- of Lincoln, Nebraska, two sister-in-laws ----- Unterseher of Lincoln Nebraska and ----- Unterseher of Harrisburg Oregon. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
