Notes: 

For background, Henry Marshall Browne added the 'e' to Brown, as did his two brothers George and Thomas, tho' we don't yet know why, as proven on Henry's certified marriage certificate to Martha Margaret Toliver, which we have, wherein he states his surname as 'Browne' and his father's surname as 'Brown'.  (email from Browne descendants in California, 4/11/2005

Henry Marshall Browne:  He was the son of James M. Brown and Amelia (Anderson, Webster) Brown, born May 26, 1863 in Noble, Richland County, IL, the fourth child of six in this union, which came to a premature end with Amelia's death between 1870 and 1880.  James remarried Sarah (James) Daughterty by the 1880 Census, who herself had children; and together they had additional children.  Of some level of interest is the fact that Sarah (James) Daugherty was the first cousin of the infamous Jesse James..!  But as pundits well say, 'That's another story'!  (email from Browne descendants in California, 4/12/2005)
