352. (COL.) SYLVESTER RICHMOND5 (William4, Silvester3, Edward2, John1) was born in Little Compton, R. I., October 7, 1740. He married (banns published November 14, 1762) Lusanna (Cook) Whitmarsh, widow of Jonathan Whitmarsh (to whom she was married early in 1760, and who died within a year thereafter), and daughter of James and Abigail (Hodges) Cook. She died December 19, 1820, in the eighty-fifth year of her age. He died November 20, 1798. He is called Colonel on his tombstone; was also High Sheriff.

-1081. JAMES COOK6, born May 28, 1781; died in Havana in 1804.
-1082. JONATHAN6, born March 9, 1783; died in Havana in 1803.
In the division of the estate of James Cook of Dighton, March 6, 1764, one part was set off to Lusanna Richmond, wife of Sylvester Richmond 3rd. (Vol. 18, p.491.)
Elijah Cook and other conveyed, June 16, 1784, to Sylvester Richmond, 2d, of Dighton, all rights in lands set off to Abigail King for her thirds in lands formerly belonging to James Cook, of whom she was in 1764 "late widow." (Book 69, p. 260.)
According to Dighton Records banns of Jonathan Whitmarsh and Lusanna Cook were published December 29, 1759.
Lusanna Whitmarsh was appointed, February 3, 1763, administratrix of the estate of her last husband, Jonathan Whitmarsh, late of Dighton, deceased. (Vol. 17, p. 178.)
Lusanna is buried at Swanspoint, Providence, R. I.
