General Notes Revolutionary War: George enlisted as a private in Captain William Hick's company of Colonel Pope's regiment and marched 7 Dec 1777, returning 27 Dec 1777, service 21 days. George moved with his family from Little Compton, RI, to Oneida Co, NY. Upon his arrival he purchased a farm near Parish Hill, Oneida, Oneida Co, NY, upon which farm he lived and labored, loved and died. |
George married Lucy RICHMOND, daughter of Capt. Perez RICHMOND and Deborah LORING, on 17 June 1770 in Little Compton, Newport County, Rhode Island Colony.1 (Lucy RICHMOND was born on 26 July 1751 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts, USA; of Madison County, New York, USA and died on 14 June 1817 in Madison Center, Madison County, New York, USA.)
