Russell Frederick Logsdon, 79, of Canton, died at 10:20 p.m. Aug. 4, 1999, at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Logsdon will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton. The Rev. Tom Alber will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in St. Patrick.
Mr. Logsdon was born June 6, 1920, near St. Patrick to Fred Caroll and Clara Belle Reischling Logsdon.
He was married to Fern Adams on Sept. 21, 1943, in St. Patrick. She preceded him in death March 10, 1969. He was later married to ----- ----- McLaughlin on May 20, 1978. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, ----- Logsdon of LaBelle, ----- Logsdon of Lawton, Okla., ----- Logsdon of Maywood and ----- ----- Logsdon of Liberty; one daughter, ----- ----- of Maywood; one stepdaughter, ----- ----- of O'Fallon, Ill.; one stepson, ----- McLaughlin of Jacksonville, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; three stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Logsdon of Canton; and three sisters, Josephine Moeller and Margie Donaldson, both of Mexico and Dorothy Jones of Flint, Mich.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Logsdon and Randy Leigh Logsdon; one daughter, Mary Logsdon; two brothers, Carl Logsdon and Frank Logsdon; one sister, Nola Boudreau; and one grandson, Nick Logsdon.
Mr. Logsdon was a farmer, livestock trader and had been a merchant. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton and Cursillo Movement.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family meeting friends after 6 p.m. and a Rosary service at 7 p.m. today at Davis Funeral Home in Canton.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Cemetery.
